There probably isn't a long-time horse breeder alive who won't tell you that if they had it to do over again, they would have started with better broodmares. With that advice in mind, we at Far Field have attempted to get the best mares we could find. Our broodmares are selected for performance pedigree, stamina, conformational excellence, good health, athletic ability, disposition, and trainability. After all that we still want them to be good mothers and socialized individuals that will blend with the herd.

| The sires of our young stock are chosen for their performance production records. Beyond that we look for correct individuals that will complement the individual mare and also produce in our foals those American Saddlebred characteristics we believe to be most important to preserve in the breed: boldness, stamina, and great enthusiasm in their way of going. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Because we use artificial insemination as a breeding tool, we are able to use stallions from all over the United States. This has proven to be an excellent program for us and we are pleased with the results.

| WC PARTY TRAIN - World Champion Party Train was trained and shown by Don Harris to a World Championship in 1991 as a 3 year old. She went on to win the Junior Five Gaited World Championship in 1992. She is sired by The Coal Train and is out of Sweetest Dream, a Buck and Wing daughter. This great mare possesses the characteristics we seek in our broodmare: stamina, courage, motion, and a go forward attitude. Yet she is a kind and feminine mare. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

SHANNON LADY
Shannon Lady was raised here at Far Field and is one of our treasured young mares. By Radiant Sultan and out of a Stonewall Main Event daughter, she carries the blood of Broadland's Kilarney on her tail female line. A tall, stretchy mare with a fiery red coat, just like all the horses from this family, her physical appearance is enhanced by her personality and intelligence. She will enter our broodmare group in 2007. |
